  1. How does the league scheduling work?
League scheduling varies on the event format and the organizer putting on the event. However, generally we have four one-hour timeslots for each league that we host. Your team will play in one of the four timeslots each week. The league schedule is generated two or three days prior to the start of the league, and you should get an email letting you know that the schedule has been posted online.
  2. Can I pick a timeslot to play in?
Unfortunately due to the number of teams(up to 40)in each league, we can not tailor the schedule for individual teams.
  3. My partner can't make the game, can I bring a sub?
Yes. For regular season play, we would prefer that you bring a substitute and play rather than not show up. We just ask that one person playing be a legitimate team member. No ringer teams in the playoffs though!
  4. I'm a Beginner...will I have to play sweet teams every week and get crushed?
No - Although it does vary based on the event organizer, most of the leagues in the Backyard ask you to indicate what your Cornhole skill level is when signing up, and most of the time you play against teams of the same skill level during regular season play.
  5. What's the deal with the Playoffs for Leagues?
League Playoffs will almost always take a single elimination tournament format (a la NCAA March Madness style). The playoff tournament is played on the final night of the league. The playoff schedule is usually posted and linked to from the league schedule a few days before the night of the playoffs. The reason that we have to wait to post the bracket is because the playoff schedule is based off of the league standings after the conclusion of the final week of regular season play.
  6. How do I signup for this action?
For all events where registration is open, you can simply click on the "Register" button, and you will be taken through the registration process for that event.
  7. How old do I have to be to play?
This varies by the event - for all events that take place at bars, you must be 21 to play. If you have a question about the age restriction for a given event, email us at info@backyardplayers.com.
  8. If the weather is miserable, how do I know if the league night has been cancelled?
If for any reason we need to cancel a particular event night, all league Team Captains will be notified of any changes or cancellations via the email provided during registration.
  9. I decided to take up needlepoint. What is your refund policy?
Unfortunately, NO refunds will be issued for any requests made after 7 days before the league start date (no matter what the circumstances). There is a $25 processing fee for refunds requested at least 7 days in advance of the league start date. This policy also includes anyone injured and unable to play during or prior to the original start date. If we do issue you a refund, we will either mail you a check, which usually takes at least 8-10 business days, or we will credit the credit card used immediately (minus any processing fees).
  10. I’m looking to offer cornhole for a private event. Can you help?
